El dictamen. La inocencia. Gran éxito. Es propicia la perseverancia. Al que no está en lo recto le va mal, y no le conviene emprender nada.

La imagen. El trueno recorre el cielo: todo lo que existe recibe su estado natural. Así los antiguos reyes, ricos en virtud y de acuerdo con el tiempo, alimentaban y hacían crecer a todos los seres.

El 25 se arma con el trueno abajo y el cielo arriba: la primera tormenta de la primavera moviéndose bajo la bóveda. Nadie la convocó y nadie la dirige; el trueno sale porque le tocaba salir, y detrás de él la tierra se llena de brotes que tampoco pidieron permiso. Esa es la figura: el movimiento espontáneo dentro del orden más grande que hay.

El nombre chino, wú wàng, se traduce como "sin desvío" o "sin falsedad": actuar sin un segundo motivo escondido. La tradición ubica el hexagrama en el momento del año en que la naturaleza produce sin calcular, y por eso el Dictamen advierte tan fuerte que al que no está en lo recto le va mal. No es una amenaza moral, es física del momento: cuando todo avanza por su cuenta, la maniobra torcida queda a la vista de todos.

Por eso la Imagen manda alimentar y hacer crecer a todos los seres. El soberano imita al cielo, que no elige sobre qué campo llueve. Dar sin fijarse a quién es la única conducta que está en escala con un trueno que nadie encendió.

The Judgment. Innocence. Great success. Steadfastness brings reward. Whoever is not upright fares badly, and it does not help them to undertake anything.

The Image. Thunder rolls beneath heaven: everything that exists receives its natural state. Thus the ancient kings, rich in virtue and in accord with the time, fed and grew all beings.

25 is built from thunder below and heaven above: the first storm of spring moving under the vault. No one summoned it and no one steers it; the thunder breaks because its turn had come, and behind it the ground fills with shoots that asked nobody for permission. That is the figure: spontaneous movement inside the largest order there is.

The Chinese name, wu wang, means "without deviation" or "without falseness": acting with no second motive hidden underneath. Tradition places this hexagram at the point in the year when nature produces without calculating, which is why the Judgment warns so bluntly that whoever is not upright fares badly. It is not a moral threat, it is the physics of the moment: when everything is already moving on its own, the crooked manoeuvre stands out for all to see.

That is why the Image orders the ruler to feed and grow all beings. The sovereign imitates heaven, which does not choose which field it rains on. Giving without checking who receives is the only conduct on the same scale as thunder nobody lit.

Sacaste el 25 y lo más probable es que vinieras armando una estrategia: cómo decirlo, cómo quedar bien parado, qué conviene mostrar y qué guardarte. El hexagrama te contesta desde otro lado. Dice que en este momento lo que funciona no es el cálculo sino la falta de cálculo.

La inocencia del 25 no es ingenuidad: es actuar sin segunda intención y aceptar lo que llega sin haberlo causado. Son las dos mitades del hexagrama, y suelen venir juntas. La primera te desarma la maniobra; la segunda te alivia, porque el 25 también se llama "lo inesperado" y aparece mucho cuando pasó algo que no dependía de vos.

En lo concreto: la conversación que ensayaste veinte veces sale mejor si decís la verdad simple. El trabajo que hacés bien porque te gusta hacerlo bien rinde más que el que hacés mirando de reojo el ascenso. Y el golpe que te cayó encima sin que hicieras nada mal no se arregla buscándote un culpable adentro.

El error típico tiene dos caras. Una es la manipulación fina, esa que ni se nota manipulación: el mensaje medido para provocar cierta respuesta, el favor que se hace para tener con qué cobrar. La otra es la pasividad disfrazada de confianza, quedarse quieto y llamarlo destino. El tercer camino del 25 es el más incómodo de los tres: moverte igual, pero con las manos vacías de agenda, y después soltar el resultado sin negociarlo. La línea 5 lo dice mejor que cualquier explicación: para el mal que no te buscaste, no tomes remedio.

En lo práctico, el hexagrama 25 suele aparecer cuando:

• Te pasó algo bueno o malo que no provocaste y no sabés qué hacer con eso.
• Estás por decir algo y dudás entre la verdad simple y la versión conveniente.
• Te descubriste haciendo un favor para tener con qué cobrar después.
• Querés arrancar algo y te frena no tener asegurado el resultado.

You drew 25 and the odds are you were assembling a strategy: how to say it, how to come out looking right, what to show and what to keep back. The hexagram answers from somewhere else. It says that right now what works is not the calculation but the absence of it.

The innocence of 25 is not naivety: it is acting with no second motive and accepting what arrives that you did not cause. Those are the two halves of the hexagram, and they usually come together. The first one disarms your manoeuvre; the second one is a relief, because 25 is also called "the unexpected" and it shows up often when something happened that was never yours to steer.

Concretely: the conversation you rehearsed twenty times goes better if you say the simple truth. The work you do well because you like doing it well pays more than the work you do with one eye on the promotion. And the blow that landed on you when you had done nothing wrong is not repaired by hunting for a culprit inside yourself.

The typical mistake has two faces. One is fine-grained manipulation, the kind that does not even feel like manipulation: the message measured to provoke a certain reply, the favour done so there is something to collect later. The other is passivity dressed as trust, sitting still and calling it fate. The third way of 25 is the most uncomfortable of the three: move anyway, but with your hands empty of agenda, and then let go of the result without bargaining. Line 5 says it better than any explanation: for the illness you did not bring on yourself, take no medicine.

In practice, hexagram 25 tends to come up when:

• Something good or bad happened that you did not cause and you do not know what to do with it.
• You are about to say something and you hesitate between the plain truth and the convenient version.
• You caught yourself doing a favour so you would have something to collect later.
• You want to start something and what stops you is not having the outcome guaranteed.

   Actuar con inocencia trae fortuna.Acting with innocence brings good fortune.

   La línea de abajo es el trueno mismo: el primer impulso, todavía sin contaminar por la conveniencia. Si lo que te empuja a moverte es limpio, movete. En lo cotidiano es esa llamada que hacés porque te salió hacerla, el mail que mandás sin medir tres veces el efecto, la ayuda que ofrecés antes de calcular si te la van a devolver. Cuando el impulso sale de ahí, casi siempre sale bien. Cuidado con arruinarlo agregándole una intención después.

   The bottom line is the thunder itself: the first impulse, still uncontaminated by convenience. If what pushes you to move is clean, move. In everyday terms it is the call you make because making it felt right, the email you send without measuring its effect three times, the help you offer before working out whether it will be repaid. When the impulse comes from there, it almost always lands well. The danger is spoiling it by attaching an intention afterwards.

   No contar con la cosecha mientras se ara, ni con el uso del campo mientras se desmonta: entonces conviene emprender algo.Not counting on the harvest while ploughing, nor on the use of the field while clearing it: then it furthers to undertake something.

   Esta es la línea del trabajo bien hecho por sí mismo. El que ara pensando en cuánto va a vender ara peor. No te dice que no planifiques: te dice que no vivas adentro del resultado mientras hacés la tarea. Sirve para estudiar, entrenar, criar, escribir y también para vender. La paradoja del 25 es que la cosecha viene mejor cuando dejaste de contarla antes de tiempo, porque toda la atención quedó libre para el surco que estás abriendo hoy.

   This is the line of work done well for its own sake. Whoever ploughs while thinking about the sale price ploughs worse. It does not tell you to stop planning: it tells you not to live inside the result while you do the task. It applies to studying, training, raising children, writing, and to selling too. The paradox of 25 is that the harvest comes out better once you stop counting it early, because all the attention is freed for the furrow you are opening today.

   La vaca que alguien había atado se la lleva el que pasa: ganancia del caminante, pérdida del vecino.The cow someone had tethered is taken by a passer-by: the traveller gains, the neighbour loses.

   Alguien ató la vaca, otro pasó y se la llevó, y el que la pierde no hizo nada. Es la línea del perjuicio que no te corresponde y que igual te toca: el cliente que se cae por una decisión ajena, la culpa que te comen por el error de otro, el robo. El consejo del 25 acá es duro y sano: no la conviertas en historia sobre vos. No hay lección escondida ni deuda que estés pagando. Reponé lo que se pueda reponer y seguí caminando.

   Someone tethered the cow, someone else walked past and took it, and the one who loses it did nothing. This is the line of damage that is not yours and reaches you anyway: the client who falls through because of a decision elsewhere, the blame you absorb for another person, the theft. The advice of 25 here is harsh and healthy: do not turn it into a story about yourself. There is no hidden lesson and no debt being settled. Replace what can be replaced and keep walking.

4. LíneaLine 4 — Poder perseverarAble to persevere

   El que puede perseverar queda sin culpa.Whoever can persevere remains without blame.

   Acá no hay nada que conquistar, solo algo que no soltar. La línea habla de quien ya está en lo suyo y siente la presión de justificarse, moverse o adaptarse a lo que opinan alrededor. La respuesta es quedarte donde estás siendo lo que sos. En la práctica: no cambies el proyecto porque un comentario te dejó inseguro, no cambies el tono porque alguien lo leyó mal. Perseverar en el 25 no es insistir con fuerza, es no dejarse torcer.

   There is nothing to conquer here, only something not to let go of. The line speaks of someone already in their own place who feels the pressure to justify themselves, to move, to adapt to the opinions around them. The answer is to stay where you are, being what you are. In practice: do not change the project because one comment left you unsure, do not change your tone because someone read it badly. Persevering in 25 is not insisting hard, it is refusing to be bent.

5. LíneaLine 5 — La enfermedad sin causaIllness with no cause

   Ante un mal que no provocaste, no uses remedio: se va por sí solo.For an illness you did not bring on yourself, use no medicine: it passes on its own.

   La línea más famosa del hexagrama y la más difícil de obedecer. Aparece algo molesto que no generaste: un malentendido, un bajón, una tensión en el equipo, un silencio raro. El impulso es intervenir, explicar, arreglar. El 25 dice que la intervención acá empeora, porque le da entidad a algo que iba a disolverse solo. No es indiferencia: es distinguir entre lo que hay que atender y lo que hay que dejar pasar. Esperá una semana antes de mover una ficha.

   The most famous line of the hexagram and the hardest to obey. Something annoying appears that you did not generate: a misunderstanding, a low patch, a tension in the team, an odd silence. The impulse is to step in, explain, fix. 25 says that intervening here makes it worse, because it gives substance to something that was going to dissolve by itself. This is not indifference: it is telling apart what needs attention from what needs to be let past. Wait a week before moving a single piece.

6. LíneaLine 6 (arriba de todothe top line) — La inocencia que insisteInnocence that insists

   Actuar con inocencia ahora trae desgracia. Nada es propicio.Acting innocently now brings misfortune. Nothing furthers.

   La única línea oscura. El impulso limpio sigue siendo limpio, pero el momento ya se cerró, y hacer lo correcto a destiempo también hace daño. Es el que dice la verdad justo cuando nadie la puede escuchar, el que ofrece ayuda cuando la ayuda ya humilla, el que arranca el proyecto el día en que el equipo se disolvió. Si te salió esta línea, la consigna es no hacer nada todavía. La inocencia también sabe esperar el turno.

   The only dark line. The clean impulse is still clean, but the moment has closed, and doing the right thing at the wrong time does damage too. It is the person who tells the truth exactly when no one can hear it, who offers help once help has become humiliating, who launches the project on the day the team dissolved. If this line came up, the instruction is to do nothing yet. Innocence also knows how to wait its turn.
